Ethical Aspects of Organizational Management – Workshop Series & HR Analysis – Merisant / Whole Earth Brands

For Merisant, part of Whole Earth Brands, we delivered a series of full‑day workshops in 2021–2022 under the title Ethical Aspects of Organizational Management. Their purpose was to train employees in the ethical code, company values, and the principles that shape how the organization operates. The workshops took place during the COVID‑19 period and were attended by production staff, administrative employees, and management.

The program was designed as interactive and experiential, ensuring that ethical and organizational principles did not remain just a formal document but became a lived part of the company culture.

Participants explored topics such as what is and isn’t “over the line,” company values, the role of leadership, communication, psychological safety, who to turn to, and how the ethical code connects to everyday work. The workshops also included orientation in the employee support system, including the role of the SOS Line.

Through open discussion and practical exercises, we gathered extensive feedback and real examples from practice. These revealed both strengths and vulnerabilities in the company culture — such as insufficient internal communication, brand confusion, the need for better feedback processes, and varying leadership quality across sites.

The outcome was a detailed HR analysis with clear recommendations based directly on the voice of employees. It helped the company better understand what works, what needs strengthening, and how to further develop its culture and employer branding.
